Bryan assistant basketball coach Jonathan Hines and College Station assistant Jeff McMillin were named boys assistant coaches of the year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
Hines helped the Vikings to a stellar first season in Class 6A as Bryan made the playoffs as the fourth seed in District 14-6A before falling in the bi-district round. Hines was the mind behind a strong Bryan offense that scored 63 points per game, led by seniors Jaqwan Washington (17 ppg) and Johnathon Wells (14 ppg). Bryan finished 22-11 overall and 10-6 in 14-6A.
