The Bryan girls basketball team closed out its run at the Aggieland Invitational with a 60-25 loss to Katy Seven Lakes on Friday in consolation-bracket play.

Head coach Chris Jones said despite Bryan’s 0-3 showing at the tournament, competing in events like it is valuable to his players.

“Tournament ball is good for us,” Jones said. “To have a few hours to adjust for a game, letting the kids get out their and play is always fun.”

Bryan went head-to-head with Seven Lakes in the first quarter, staying within 12-8, but couldn’t keep up in the second and third quarters.

“We’re competing, getting after it,” Jones said. “We rebounded the ball a little better today. We just have to keep getting better.”

The Lady Vikings will return to the court to face Bridgeland at noon Tuesday in District 14-6A play at Viking Gym.

“We’re going to continue to practice. We’re going to do more of the same, just trying to get better,” Jones said.
